The "Dreieckiger Pfahl" shelter with the Harz hiking badge stamp is located near a stone border marker that used to separate the Kingdom of Hanover and the Duchy of Brunswick. Our shelters in the Harz National Park are usually located in places worth seeing and are therefore popular hiking destinations. They serve as a short-term rest and break option and as protection in the event of bad weather. Overnight stays are only permitted in an emergency. In the interest of everyone, whether human or animal, our shelters must be kept clean.

Very nice, well-known refuge at a large crossroads. Simultaneous position of stamp box 168 of the Harz hiking pin. Not far (around 150 meters) from this rest area to the west is the actual boundary stone of the same name, “Triangular Pfahl”, also a hiking highlight.
