Good for beginners too. Runs through varied, atmospheric flora and fauna, which strongly reminds of Scandinavian mountain ranges.

The Abbigraben is a moat that was created in 1827 southeast of Torfhaus. He served to supply the mines of Burgstätter train to Clausthal with drive water for the local water wheels. The trench taps the waters of the Abbe, which rises in the water-rich Brockenfeld - a swamp area southwest of the Brocken. The total length of the trench is 1540 meters.
