The Ladby Ship is a Viking ship discovered in 1935 by the Odense pharmacist and amateur archaeologist Poul Helweg Mikkelsen. It was excavated and cast in concrete in 1937. After the excavation, it became clear that the ship had served as a burial site, meaning that the ship had been buried with its captain.
The ship grave is now the center of the Ladby Viking Museum, which, with the grave and the museum building, tells the story of the Vikings in Denmark, their lives and deaths.villavilla.de/attraktionen/fuenen-und-seine-inseln/ladbymuseum
