Lotte Lehmann monument

The board of the Perleberg Citizens' Association had commissioned the Prignitz artist Bernd Streiter to create a life-size bronze bust of the singer with a base and bronze plaque with the most important personal information on the bust.

On April 8, 2014, the bust of Lotte Lehmann was ceremonially unveiled in front of the wall building. In addition to Mayor Annett Jura and Malte Hübner Berger, chairman of the Perleberg citizens' association, Angelo Raciti, head of the Lotte Lehmann Academy, and Karan Armstrong, Lotte Lehmann's student, were also present.

On this day, the Perleberg Civic Association, young talented singers, citizens and celebrities honored the great opera singer Lotte Lehmann in her native town on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of her death, thus commemorating the great German-American artist.

The citizens' association also hopes that the citizens of Perleberg and interested vacationers will enjoy looking at the bust and dealing with the life of Lotte Lehmann. In addition to the bust, the stone base also contains a bronze plaque with the dates of the birth of the exceptionally talented singer who was born in Perleberg.
