The oldest of five medieval watermills was already in operation here in the 14th century.
After a major fire in 1926, a residential and commercial building was built there, while the mill continued to operate in the adjoining storage building until 1978.
The building on the courtyard side fell into disrepair until BIG-STÄDTEBAU GmbH converted it into a modern office building and moved into it in 1998.
The hydroelectric power plant was partially reactivated in 1999 by a private entrepreneur from Perleberg and today it is once again feeding electricity into the local network
energy supplier.
