It is a fascinating natural phenomenon to be able to observe the formation of gypsum directly. Anhydrite absorbs water and turns into gypsum. It swells constantly and this bulging can create small cavities, which are also known as dwarf caves. The soft gypsum is very easily washed away and so every time you visit a site you can discover new washed-out or broken-off areas, even further along the path.

You can see the formation of heavenly meal very nicely. It was once added to the grain flour for bread in order to stretch it cheaply. Anyone who ate too much of this flour died in excruciating pain and went to heaven.
