A 3.5 km long watercourse called "Bocksgraben" begins in the southeastern part of the Ochsenkopf.

At the beginning of the 17th century, iron mining at the Ochsenkopf became more active. In addition to charcoal, a lot of water was also needed as an energy source. So that the iron processing companies could also work in periods of little rain, ponds were built above the companies to store the water and release it when needed. Additional ditches were dug to fill the ponds, including the Bocksgraben in 1797.

A beautiful path runs along the man-made and gently flowing Bocksgraben. The approximately 3.5 km long watercourse served as a water pipe to store water for mining.

The name Bocksleite appeared in the local literature as early as the 17th century without knowing where it came from or what it means. It is known that the Bocksgraben is an artificially created watercourse and that there were considerable disputes because of it between 1797 and 1801.
