Great view pavilion with new very nice rest area, without barbecue area
October 20, 2017
From up here you have a great view.
What I think is nice is that the pavilion was probably only rebuilt not that long ago and inside there are photos of residents who have contributed to it. That shows a great community.

There is a lounger for 2 people with a view of the waterfall. No disturbing noises spoil the idyll on the contrary the 2 that were there were so scared when I suddenly showed up only the noise of the waterfall is omnipresent.

The plateau of the Burgbachfelsen is larger than expected, a surrounding railing prevents visitors from venturing too close to the edge of the rock. The name of the rock and the ideal location suggest that there was a castle / weir system at this point during the Middle Ages. Unfortunately nothing has been preserved from the medieval castle complex, what remains is the fantastic view of the Wolftal.
A viewing pavilion, at least, has been at this point for a very long time, as it was chosen as the destination of a jubilee procession every year in the 19th century for the birthday of the Grand Duke of Baden.

After the ascent, at the top, you can sit in the pavilion and look down into the valley

There used to be a castle on the castle rock. It is a resting place with a beautiful view of the Wolftal and a refuge that is reminiscent of a castle tower. With a lot of imagination you can still guess the old castle walls and maybe feel like a lord of the castle.
