The Ludwig Lesser Promenade runs along the edge of the spa park along the lakeshore. It is named after the Berlin landscape architect who planned the park in Bad Saarow around 1910. Here, like a string of pearls, you will find the pavilion, the lakeside balcony, the Kursaal with restaurant terraces and the jetty of the Kurfürstenterrassen, as well as many other sights.

The perfect place for a leisurely stroll along the lake. If you then take a look at the old mansions on the waterfront, you'll feel like you're in the Hamptons on Long Island - even if some of the houses still look a little abandoned.

Bad Saarow lies on the shores of Lake Scharmützelsee, Brandenburg's second-largest lake,
and is part of the region's only nature reserve. The direct connection to Berlin, the stunning ambiance, and the extensive range of leisure activities give Bad Saarow a special quality of life.
Lake Scharmützelsee is the second largest of over 3,000 lakes in Brandenburg.
The Scharmützelsee area is a 12,432-hectare nature reserve, parts of which are the region's only nature reserve. In 2012, Lake Scharmützelsee was voted Brandenburg's most popular lake and in 2013 "Germans' Favorite Lake" in Seen.de's annual online survey.

For leisurely excursions and as connections between the attractive destinations, scheduled and passenger ships operated by the Scharmützelsee Shipping Company, as well as motorboats, electric boats, and rowboats, are available. If you have time, you can also reach the lake from Berlin by boat, about 130 kilometers away, via the Dahme and Wendisch Rietzer Fließ.
