How to get there: From U Schönbrücken Allee take the U2 "Ruhleben" to Alexanderplatz station. From Alexanderplatz station take the RE1 "Brandenburg" to Hbhf Brandenburg and then take bus 562 "Ziesar" to Ziesar, Breite Straße.Return: from Gross Briesen by bus 559 "Görzke" to Görzke, Breite Straße, by bus 588 "Bad Belzig" to Bad Belzig, bus station, continue by bus 590 Stadtlinie to Bad Belzig, Bahnhof, with the RE7 "Wünsdorf- Waldstadt "to Alexanderplatz station, then take the U2" Pankow "to U Bhf Schönhauser Allee. The return trip sounds difficult but at least during the week the connection works very well.Arrived by bus in Ziesar stop Breite Straße, we walk 150 meters along the street Brandenburger Tor and come across the castle hiking trail, which is very well marked and signposted to Groß Briesen. Our way goes over shady forest roads and past meadows and fields and sometimes there are wide views of the country, the High Fläming.

How to get there: From U Schönbrücken Allee take the U2 "Ruhleben" to Alexanderplatz station. From Alexanderplatz station take the RE7 "Dessau" to Bad Belzig station, then take the bus to the bus station and from there take bus 593 "Görzke" to the bus stop Görzke, school the starting point of the hike.Return: from the bus stop Ziesar, Breiter Weg by bus to the main station Brandenburg, there are different possibilities. From Hbhf Brandenburg take the RE1 "Frankfurt" to Bhf Friedrichstraße and from there take the S1, S2 or S25 to the SBH Bornholmer Straße.The public transport connections are better during the week than at the weekend, so I hiked on a Wednesday. The planning of this hike is easy as we stay on the castle path all the time. Not far behind the bridge over the highway, I missed a left turn and left the castle route accidentally. If you're using this track, watch out for it (the castle path had been altered, I had an old track, and my map was also outdated, so I tiredly walked past the correct marker). There are sections of the hike where we walk without shadows through meadows and fields, in the summer a hat is recommended. But our way also goes over shady forest roads and past meadows and fields and sometimes there are wide views of the country, the High Fläming.Schön, two astronomers on the hike: in Dangelsdorf and Ziesar. I hope it works with the offspring. On the way a doe, a few deer and two of my beloved hare.Video on Ziesar

How to get there: From U Schönbrücken Allee take the U2 "Ruhleben" to Alexanderplatz station. From Alexanderplatz station take the RE7 "Dessau" to Bad Belzig station and continue by bus 581 "Brandenburg ZOB" to Ragösen, the starting point of the hike. Return: from Bad Belzig with the RE7 "Wünsdorf-Waldstadt" to Alexanderplatz station, then with the U2 "Pankow" to U Bhf Schönhauser Allee.Arriving by bus in Ragösen, we are already on the castle hiking trail, which is very well marked and signposted to Bad Belzig. But first we go back a little bit and look from Ragösen still the village church and the small village square, to take an impression of here, before we step into the forest. Our hike is uncomplicated from the planning: we stay until Bad Belzig on the Burgenwanderweg, which leads us from here north, over the villages Dippmannsdorf and Lütte to our destination. The castle hiking trail has been improved many times. This track corresponds exactly to the newest marked route on 16 July 2018. Our way goes over shady forest roads and past meadows and fields and sometimes there are wide views into the country, the high Fläming.

How to get there: From S Bhf Schönhauser Allee take the S41 "Ring" to Ostkreuz station, then take the RB25 "Werneuchen" to Werneuchen, from there take bus 887 "Bad Freienwalde" to Leuenberg, Dorf. Return: in Strausberg, stop Strausberg, Lustgarten with the tram 89 "Strausberg Bhf" to the station Strausberg, with the S5 "Teltow city" to S station Ostkreuz and from there with the S42 "Ringbahn" to S station Schönhauser Allee. The walk begins at the bus stop and from there it is only a short distance to the 66 lakes road to Strausberg. In summer, the hiker can enjoy the rich green and swim in the lakes. A mosquito spray should always be in the backpack. In autumn, the view of the lakes is cleared and in winter, the landscape with snow and the frozen water is simply enchanting. Through many narrow trails that meander through the forest and along the lakes, the route is entertaining.Arrived in Strausberg it is worthwhile to explore this city. The city offers in addition to monuments, such as the city wall and gastronomy. Ice cream parlors, kebab shops, cafés and restaurants are on offer.

How to get there: From the station Bornholmer Straße with the S2 "Bernau" to station Karow, from Karow with the heather course, the RB27 "Groß Schönebeck" to station Klandorf. Return: from the Kaiserbahnhof Joachimsthal with the RB 63 "Eberswalde" to HBhf Eberswalde, from there with the RE3 or the RB 24 onwards to Bernau and from there with the S2 to the S Bhf Bornholmer Straße.The hike takes us from the station through the village and then past meadows into the forest, which makes up the Schorfheide, to Eichhorst. The post-hiker should follow my track to Eichhorst with his GPS, the trail is not marked and has been optimized in many hikes. Due to the hooks that I strike he is particularly entertaining, varied and attractive. In Eichhorst there are various restaurants and at the bottom of the canal there is ice in summer. The inn known for its game specialties "Zur Schorfheide", road to Schorfheide 3, 16244 Schorfheide-Eichhorst, Tel. 03335-330335. Right next to it is the tavern "Zum Wisent".From Eichhorst goes on a beautiful trail along Werbellinkanal to Werbellinsee with its bathing facilities. Part of the hike is also possible as a steamer trip from the pier in Altenhof to the pier Joachimsthal.
      meinwerbellinsee.de/schifffahrt-werbellinsee
In Werbellinsee directly there are some nice opportunities to stop in Altenhof.

The hike is not possible at the lake. Since the Uferweg has slipped at one point, there is a bypass on an attractive forest path.

Return: from Rädigke with the bus 572 "Burgenlinie" to Bad Belzig, from there with the RE7 "Wünsdorf-Waldstadt" to Alexanderplatz station, then with the U2 "Pankow" to U Bhf Schönhauser Allee. This hike is a combination of two signposted hiking trails in the Hohe Fläming: the Bergmolch hiking trail and the Grüne Rummel hiking trail. Our hike begins at the bus stop in Rädigke, from there we hike on the mountain pig hiking trail in a westerly direction to Rabenstein Castle.Below Burg Rabenstein we change to the Green Rummel hiking trail and follow this over Forsthaus Zehrensdorf into Plane headwaters. This is where the Green Rummel hiking trail, the E11 and the Burgenwanderweg are united. After about 400 meters, our mountain new hiking trail joins again and after another 450 meters leaves the E11 in the direction of Raben. We stay with the nice hiking sign of the mountain newt hiking trail, it shows the mountain newt in blue on a white background. Our way leads us through the Planetal to the horse bridge and from here it is only a short distance to our destination, the bus stop Rädigke.

Return: from station Strausberg with the S5 "Teltow city" to S station Ostkreuz and from there with the S42 "Ringbahn" to S station Schönhauser Allee. Our hike begins at the Strausberg station, where it will also end as a circular walk. We walk north to the district Eggersdorf Nord, where we turn to the north-east and after about 200 meters in the forest. Here today was a deer with his fawn in the middle of the trail. I stopped motionless and we looked at each other for a moment and then Mrs. Reh with child came to the right of me in the forest. I've seen a lot of game on my solo walks, but never a fawn with a fawn. I was very touched. We cross the road and walk next to a drainage ditch through meadows and fields, the post office break, where we reach the northernmost point of the tour in the forest. We turn east, cross the road again at the petrol station and walk on narrow paths through the southern Strausberg. Our way leads us now south into the NSG Herrensee, a spray as protection against mosquitoes should be in the backpack. At the southernmost point of our hike is today's retreat, the restaurant Radaiczak with beer garden at the station Herrensee. We cross the railway at the station, wander west across meadows along the edge of the forest and come across the 66 Seen Weg, which we follow to Strausberg station, our destination.

About Horst Neumann
