We stopped here for a short break during our hike. There are tables and benches. The Jakobshäuschen used to be accommodation for foresters and forest workers.

In 1819 there was a forester named Jakob Eichenlaub in Schaidt. The old Jakobshäuschen was probably built during his tenure and served as a shelter for the forest ranger at that time. Its location was at the intersection of Bildstrasse-K23. In map number 572. "Landau", edition from 1886, it is registered as Echenlaubhütte ". The old Jakobshäuschen stood about 200 meters from the main battle line of the west wall and was leveled around 1938 for strategic reasons.
In 1958, under the forester Werner Kummler from the Schaidt forestry office, the
new Jakobshäuschen built.
