Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was so fascinated by the rock labyrinth that he visited it in 1785 and 1820. He wanted to research how these rock giants were formed. His saying: "The granite won't let me go" became a popular saying. Goethe made extensive sketches and detailed studies of some of the rock formations.

The Goethe rock can be found in the Felsenlabyrint Wunsiedel, directly behind the Freilichttheater Luisenburg. If you treat yourself to a performance in the theater, you should also visit the labyrinth. But respect solid shoes you should have on and have no large bags backpacks, it is sometimes tight and low. Top with kids has a high experience factor when they are i Climbing!
