New Art Museum, Basel
A new building for the special exhibitions
With an extension opposite the main building, the Kunstmuseum received a third house in spring 2016, the Kunstmuseum Basel | new building. The project by Christ & Gantenbein Architects from Basel offers more than 8000 square meters of space for special exhibitions, but also for the contemporary presentation of the unique collection in different rooms.
The construction costs amounted to 100 million Swiss francs. The private Laurenz Foundation paid 50 million Swiss francs, and a further 50 million Swiss francs were taken over by the public sector.

The Kunstmuseum Basel is an internationally renowned museum of fine arts.
