The area is designated as a mountain damage area and extreme caution is required when walking.

A barbed wire fence prevents you from coming on top of the elephant's head. Apparently there is a risk of falling. In any case, I found no way to the highlight, but then saw it from across the trees weak.

For me it was just like my previous speaker. As Gerd has already described a visit is already possible but also dangerous.

The former "Elefantenkopf" opencast mine is located in the now inaccessible mountain damage area. On our way to the Altusknipp we felt like Silke with Yuna & Yomi: We couldn't find a way to the highlight.

Attention! There is a danger of falling in the mountain damage area. The wire fence that surrounds the area is pretty holey.
