A military shooting range has been located here since the 1840s. Initially, Imperial Guard infantry trained here, then Wehrmacht soldiers, and later American troops. After 1989, the police even practiced here for a few years until the range was abandoned and dismantled at the end of the 1990s. The open space of the shooting range still exists today.
