Cape Arkona tells the story of the north; about the Slavic indigenous people of Ruegen up to the establishment of strategic military positions at Cape Arkona. On the 43-meter-high limestone cliff there are three towers.

Cape Arkona is a 43m high cliff on the peninsula Wittow.
There are 2 lighthouses, a tow tower and two military bunkers.
The smaller of the two lighthouses was built in 1826/1827 to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in brick construction. He is 19.3 m high.
The larger tower was built in 1901/1902. He is 35 m high.

From here you have a wonderful view from the lighthouse over the country or high on the cliffs over the sea. You can walk or go with the kids by train. Both worthwhile.

Cape Arkona is of course a must visit on complaints. Full of tourists - you make it yourself. But the bike ride up in the corner is just great. In Cape Arkona you get a lot of impressions. Tip .... take the artist's accommodation with you.

The hotspot on Rügen. There are also very nice bike / hiking trails. The bike paths on the northern coast are partially unpaved and / or run through soft sand.

Belongs to a Cape Arkona visit necessarily, 3 euros personally I find too much, also because children are not distinguished.
But the view is worth it. Unique. 🤗

Great view at the Cape. However, the path on the coast offers at least as much beautiful views and it is not so crowded.
