Kap Arkona is a 43-meter-high cliff made of chalk and glacial till on the Wittow peninsula in the north of the island of Rügen. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations on Rügen with around 800,000 visitors every year. There are two lighthouses, a former naval direction-finding tower, two former military bunkers, the Slavic Jaromarsburg, a weather station of the German Weather Service and several tourist buildings (restaurants, bars, souvenir shops).
