Kinder Reservoir is a striking stretch of water tucked beneath the wild expanse of Kinder Scout. Built between 1903-1911, the reservoir is fed by the River Kinder and by the stream flowing down William Clough valley.

Kinder Reservoir was constructed in 1912 and is a beautifully photogenic place. There are rough paths around the edges of the reservoir and a rather grand former water treatment works building which has sadly fallen into disrepair.

Beautifully secluded lake, wildlife is plentiful. Shame about the vandalism to the old waterworks buildings
