The bridge is part of a branch line of the Royal Prussian State Railways, which was inaugurated in 1872. The route began in Fredersdorf on the Ostbahn (Berlin–Küstrin) and ran via Petershagen to Rüdersdorf. The railway ended directly at the old lime kilns in Rüdersdorf.
Until 1965 the route was also used for passenger traffic. There were only three train stations: Fredersdorf (with connection to the S-Bahn), Petershagen and Rüdersdorf. After 1965, all three stations were only served by bus and, until the introduction of the VBB tariff, were the only three stops listed as S-Bahn stations that were only served by bus.
However, the route is still used as an industrial railway.

Beautiful, but was closed (with a fence/gate) in spring 2023 due to bird-protection... one had to take a 1km detour via Ernst-Thälmann-Strasse in Rüdersdorf.

... guess this can happen every year.

The bridge can be crossed safely on foot, as there is a metal railing between the path and the tracks. As the route is still used as an industrial railway, the tracks should not be walked on here.

Cool bridge but shown as non-public on the Komot map.
