You can walk all the way round Wast water, if the mountains are more daunting than you thought. A nice stroll, occasionally having to be sure of foot.

Walked the whole is the lake today and was very beautiful however the east side is littered with large rocks and extremely hard to navigate over. It can be done but it’s more rock climbing than hiking. If you see the gray areas on the map then you will be climbing the rocks not walking. Navigate with care.

Wast Water is overshadowed by Scarfell and Scarfell Pike - the two highest points in England. The east side of the lake is littered with rock slides and looks arid and a bit alien. There is a trail down the east side for the lake. At the head of the lake is a campsite and parking where most people start their adventures into the surrounding mountains
