Northern side of Grenchenberg: breathtaking views over the Jura

The trail actually begins a little further west, where it branches off from the Route de Montoz. Nice alternative to the usual gravel path further up the hill to get from Montoz or the Harzer mountain restaurant to the Obergrenchenberg. A few more meters in altitude, but an effort that is worthwhile and rewards you with a wonderful panoramic view of the north side of the Grenchenberg. The trail is interspersed with clear areas in the forest on the north flank, where there is a good view. The path changes from the initial forest path character on the way to a pleasant single trail without any special technical difficulties. A trail to enjoy. The Komoot card says S1, I can agree with that.

Those who dare to go up here by mountain bike will be rewarded with a super beautiful view over the Jura to the north. The viewpoint is on a nice single trail that leads from Montoz to the Obergrenchenberg (or vice versa, of course). You drive here along a small rock flank, which, together with the fauna, gives off the "right" Jura feeling.

The trail along the northern flank of the Grenchenberg is actually already in the Envers de Montoz area. It runs close to the ridge, which is why I named it Grenchenberg Nordflanken Trail anyway. It begins moderately uphill on a tractor path. Approximately in the middle it mutates into a kind of single trail, which in turn leads slightly downwards. You can ride it very flowing at high speed. But don't leave the view to the north out of sight. You can see over the second and third Jura chain to the Black Forest. It is very hot here, especially in summer, the rocks give off a lot of warmth. Accordingly, the flora is also typically Jura and exudes an incredible calm. A nice trail that can also be ridden with biobikes. The end is incidentally uphill again, in the curve you drive over the ridge and then land behind the Obergrenchenberg restaurant.
