The Black Schluftwasser (often also Black Schluftwasser) is a left tributary of the Kalten Bode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt in the Harz Mountains.
It rises in the Goethemoor on the southern slope of the Brocken, flows through the Eckerloch gorge to the southeast, taking in a few tributaries and crossing under the Brocken Railway and twice the Brockenstrasse, and flows into the Kalte Bode at the Schluftwiesen.

Many just drive past this small place. One more reason to stop here for a moment.

The black Schluftwasser springs in the Goethemoor on Brockensüdhang. It flows through a gorge, namely the Eckerloch. Gorge = Mud. The Eckerloch-Talmulde lies at an altitude of 845m. The Eckerlochstieg accompanies the Schluftwasser.

The stream runs all the way up the mountain. If you're descending this way then it's fantastic to see the stream grow in size as you speed along the gravel path.
