Railroad romantics naturally have to get on the steam train. Very tranquil drive with a lot of nostalgia. Traveling was something special in the past. One is totally spoiled by the frenzy with the car! 😁

For a holiday in the Harz, a visit to the Brocken is a must. If the weather is right, you have a phenomenal view far into the surrounding lowlands.

The descent on the perforated concrete slabs requires a lot from man and machine. But worth it in any case even if waiting at the reservoir stairs.

The driveway or downhill over the concrete slabs is uncomfortable. The part of the Goetheweg, which runs parallel to the Brockenbahn, is easy to drive. The paved supply road from Schierke to Brocken, on which the Goetheweg flows, is quite steep in the last part. With the e-bike that's no problem, otherwise you need a good condition. The area is just great.

I was 14 times up. Just behind Brocken Benno 🤔😊😂 Always great. Several times with the MTB and often on foot. On the first climb there were still border controls and on the Brocken, even Russians with Kalashnikov. From Schierke 1.10 hours up and 18 minutes down again. At that time hardly hikers. I'm even younger. Climb the hill, it's worth it. But the weather should play. Especially the clothes. The Brocken is always good for a surprise, as far as the weather is concerned.

Medium heavy round, small part Ca. 4.5 km in front of Brockenplateau narrow singletrack you have to push 😅🚵🏽. Fully is highly recommended, as it is downhill "something" bumpy.

There are many beautiful ways to hunk up. If you do not like running or cycling, you can take the Brocken train. That too is an experience. In good weather, the vision is fantastic.

Goethe and Heine were there. There is a special fauna. The foresight is impressive and in Brockenhaus there is much information around the Brocken.

I've never taken the train - that's why I have a bike :) But it's nice to hear the whistle of the train as you make your way up the mountain.

An absolute must in terms of photo point. Who was not here was not really on the Brocken.👍

The foresight in good weather is fantastic. The Brockenuhr, which indicates the distance to different places, is interesting.

This is an awesome climb that I would recommend to anyone. Just don't expect great food at the top and also pack something warm as it can be a lot windier and colder up top.

Great view after the exhausting climb. Amazing was today (15.04.2019), the haze, which showed up in the lower regions and judging by the color - judging by formulation - seems to be man-made.

The first time at the ascent of Bad Harzburg, where you can see the Brockenbahn in the immediate vicinity.

Sure, the highest point in Germany, but not the most beautiful point. The forest dieback and the guilt of forest management is obvious. At the same time, the paths are very often very crowded. Hence the highlight, well, you have to decide for yourself. The ascent from this direction is in any case easy to master on a racing bike, good asphalt, good incline, but be careful when descending.
