The Witten Ruhr Viaduct is considered a "viaduct like a picture book". It was built in 1913-16 for the Witten - Schwelm railway line. Commissioning was delayed until 1926 due to the First World War.Because of resistance from the population, who feared the Ruhr floodplain would be spoiled, the viaduct was mostly clad with natural stone. Only three arches on the north side are made of steel.More info: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruhr-Viadukt_(Witten)#0
