The former "Rheinischer Esel" railway line, now developed as a comfortable cycle and pedestrian path, crosses the railway line 2801 Hagen - Witten - Dortmund HBF in a north-south direction and offers a wide view to the west thanks to the railings open on both sides and east, especially sunsets and sunrises can be quite spectacular here.

The former use as a railway line is still very clearly visible on the bridge, as the asphalt path is accompanied by the old gravel bed on the left and right. The wide concrete elements beyond the gravel beds make it possible to take a short break, at least when the weather is good, without disrupting traffic on the sometimes busy piste.
