Ancient shelter where shepherds and goats once protected themselves from the weather.
August 1, 2016
The ice ages have left clearly recognizable traces - but even more obvious are the traces of the people who have lived in this remote mountain region since prehistoric times. Shepherds' dwellings built under huge rocks, goat stalls, cooling chambers and many other hidden treasures. In the region there are still over 130 ancient house and stable constructions, which were set up by the Terrieri, the inhabitants of the Bavona Valley, below huge boulders and which today testify to the barren shepherd life of bygone eras.
