Small ski and hiking village in close proximity to the Hochtannberg Pass and right below the dramatic peaks of Mohnenfluh and Juppenspitze. Despite the tourist development, it has retained its sleepy character. Schröcken is an excellent starting point for hikes in the Bregenzerwald and the adjacent Lechquelle Mountains. A short hike takes you from here to the “Most Beautiful Place in Austria 2017”, the romantic Körbersee.

This is how I imagine a mountain village on a miniature railway landscape. Nice people who still sell drinks despite the day off 👍. We recommend.
