The memorial was built in memory of the people who designed the dam and all those who died in the construction of Hoover Dam. Nearly 100 construction workers died during the construction, some of them fell from several hundred meters into the Colorado River. The monument depicts two winged allegorical figures sitting alongside a polished black diorite base. You can see seven seals of the states that receive water or electricity from the Hoover Dam: Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Wyoming and New Mexico. The memorial is on the Nevada side of the dam. The winged figures are located on the Nevada side of Hoover Dam, at the very end of the access road, just past the parking garage and across from the new visitor center. You can tour the statues for free, but admission to the visitor center/museum is $10, and tours of the dam are available for an additional fee, depending on which tour you choose.
