You can get to the visitor center via a security gate. There you can watch a film about the creation of the Hoover Dam and visit a small exhibition. From the Vesuchterrasse you have a view over the visitors' terrace. The ticket costs 10 dollars. You can also book tours of the power plant.

The dam buildings were built in 1935 by the architect Gordon Kaufmann in the Art Deco style. The buildings also contain motifs from the Navajos and Pueblos who settled in this region.

From a 221 meter high observation deck, we enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Mead, the Colorado River and the numerous valleys and gorges that surround the dam. The Hoover Dam is about as high as a 60-story building and was the tallest dam in the world when it was built in 1935.
During our visit, we have the opportunity to go inside the dam. We walk through the original construction tunnels and
visit the observation deck with a view of a pressure pipeline and 8 of the commercial generators in the Nevada Powerhouse.
