The St. Rombouts Tower is Mechelen's showpiece: It is the tower of the cathedral from the 15th century, 97 meters and more than 500 steps high. The ascent takes about 20 minutes. As a reward there is a great view over Mechelen to Brussels, Antwerp and Leuven.
A highlight of the city in the truest sense of the word: The 97 meter high St. Rombouts Tower. The landmark of Mechelen was never completed. Today a modern skywalk adorns the tower, from which carillon concerts can be heard every week.
