Castle Hartenfels is always worth a visit. Already as a child I liked to go to the bears to watch them in the Bärengraben. The physical well-being is also taken care of here.

The construction of the Renaissance castle began in the 15th century, and was completed in the 16th century. Striking is inside the Wendelstein, which consists entirely of Elbsandstein. Definitely a must for visitors Torgaus.

When the Saxon dynasty of the Wettin split in 1485 at the Leipzig division in two lines, fell the previous main residence, the Albrechtsburg in Meissen, in the possession of the Albertine line of Wettin. Elector Friedrich III. and his successors later had the castle Hartenfels expanded into the new main residence of the Ernestine line in Torgau.

Not far away is the main stud Graditz. Always worth a visit with its parks and stables.

Hartenfels Castle is a magnificent Renaissance castle in the city of Torgau. Built between 1482 and 1623, the castle is the largest of the fully preserved early Renaissance castles in Germany.

Alone to "bear watching" is worth it.

A fantastic, worth seeing castle. The Bear enclosure is the crowning glory. The city center is also worth seeing.

Very beautiful palace complex in Torgau, almost directly on the Elbe.
The most beautiful view of the other bank of the Elbe, but always worth a visit.

A wonderful fairytale castle with interesting exhibitions on history and current references.
We are sorry, but we find the imprisonment and display of the poor bears in the shady ditch is out of date. Neither this great place nor these wonderful wild animals need that.
