Description
Floor plan
irregular, closed, square courtyard, first mentioned in 973 as a German castle ward, the original castle complex had three wings and roughly enclosed the current castle courtyard.

Wing A – entrance wing: city side, different protruding facade parts, dormer windows, two octagonal towers, main portal with bell tower and coat of arms, courtyard side with stair tower, round-arched gate with rusticated jambs,
Wing B – chapel wing: curtain-arched windows, dormer windows, richly decorated bay window, courtyard room building with cornices,
Wing C – Johann-Friedrich building: coupled curtain-arched windows, large spiral stone on a cube-shaped substructure, open, delicate construction,
Wing D – Albrechts building: coupled curtain-arched windows, dormer windows, Gothic portal, diamond-block consoles, main hall with loggias, surrounding gallery,
Wing E - simple plastered construction,

Nice landscaped garden, when we were there there was no entrance fee to enter the gardens.
