In the years 1897/1898, Sepp's great-great-grandfather created today's inn in the size it currently presents. At that time, all building materials had to be carried by strong men from Wasserauen over the narrow Schrenneweg. The heaviest load, the "Strussbodi", which one man carried alone, was 128 kilograms.
In the years 1903/1904 the chapel "Maria zum Schnee" was built on the initiative of Pastor Räss according to plans by the architect Holderegger and dedicated to the Holy Mother.
