Ochsenkopf-Gipfel

The Asenturm is located at 1,024 meters altitude on the summit of Ochsenkopf. With the mountain bike you get up here well and if you like it more relaxed, the cable cars from Bischofsgrün-Fröbershammer and Warmensteinach-Fleckl help out. From the tower you have a great view of the Fichtelgebirge and in the guest room down there's cold and hot food and all sorts of drinks.

Tuesday to Sunday 9am to 6pm
Mondays are closed, but in good weather the kiosk is usually open.

The Asenturm is a lookout tower and Franconia's highest excursion restaurant on the Ochsenkopf (1,024 m). It can be reached on foot, by bike or with 2 cable cars.

The Ochsenkopf landmark can be found here. In order to naturalize the name "Ochsenkopf", this landmark was attached to the summit north-west of the Asenturm. The landmark is first mentioned in a mine record in 1495.From here you also have a wonderful view towards Bischofsgrün, the Schneeberg and the surrounding mountains.Out of consideration for hikers, the bike should be left a little further down.
