The Sexten Dolomites, located in the northeast of Alta Pusteria, form the final section of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. To the west, they border the Braies Dolomites in the Landro Valley. During the First World War, this impressive mountain range was the scene of fierce clashes between Italian and Austrian soldiers – evidence of this period can still be seen in the landscape today.
