The barracks are accessible. The dormitory must have had 40 beds.

Monte Piana in the Sesto Dolomites is a plateau mountain approximately 2,324 meters high on the border between South Tyrol and Belluno. It became famous during the First World War, when the front ran through here between 1915 and 1917: Italian soldiers held Monte Piana, while Austro-Hungarian troops held the opposite Monte Piano. Over 14,000 soldiers died in the trenches, which were often only a few meters apart. Today, the area is an open-air museum with well-preserved emplacements, trenches, and tunnels. The starting point for visitors is the Bosi Hut, which can be reached by jeep shuttle in summer. In addition to its historical significance, Monte Piana offers an impressive panorama of the Three Peaks, Monte Cristallo, the Cadini Group, and Lake Misurina.
