Bike Touring Highlight
The Drauradweg runs 510 kilometers along the Drava River from Toblach in Italy to the Croatian-Slovenian border. This section is thus at the very beginning of the bike path and leads almost just from San Candido to Sillian (or back). Perfect for a small warm-up program and then warming up to master the steep climbs of the Dolomites.

Attention, the Drau cycle path drawn here no longer exists after a few mudflows and is blocked on the Austrian side on long sections. However, an alternative route was set up, which is also easy to drive, but in parts is not quite as nice. The signage is, coming from San Candido, very good. On the way back missing now and then a signpost, so that you may come to the old Drau cycle path, but then ends at the latest at a bridge torn away.

We drove this section in September in both directions ourselves. I can confirm the hint from C4. The path has been rebuilt on the opposite side and is currently quite dusty in dry conditions. But that should not stop anyone from avoiding this section!
