From a rather inconspicuous hole in the earth emerges the Warm Vltava, one of the two source rivers of the longest Czech watercourse.
August 16, 2018
The Vltava rises in two source rivers: the Warm Vltava near Aussergefild (Kvilda) in the Bohemian Forest north of the Lusens; and the cold Vltava river near Haidmühle in the Bavarian Forest on the Haidelosthang, where it also receives small tributaries from Bavaria. The Little Vltava (Vltavský creek) is on the right bank of the Vltava, but is not counted among the source rivers. The Grasige Moldau (Řasnice) is a tributary of the Warm Vltava.

The source enclosed here is a symbolic source of the warm Vltava. In fact, the most original point is about 1 km further in an old mining tunnel.
