Today's weir is a new construction from the years 1989-1993 (see inscription in the pillar on the right bank), which replaces the nearby predecessor weir (180m further upstream) from 1906. The cascading water masses are impressive and acoustically create a roaring ambience. Incidentally, you can partially walk through the facility from the inside with a guided tour. The view from above of the two locks that adjoin the weir is also interesting. They were built from 1995-99 and replaced the old systems.
