The new Bogaerd Bridge, between the Gedempte and the still open Dender in Dendermond's inner city, dates from 2014. It was designed after a copy of the Vlasmarkt Bridge, with a typical iron construction in a triangular shape that towers above the bridge.

The renovation of the Bogaerd Bridge took just under two years. The existing Bogaerddam was then completely removed and replaced by a new bridge. The Dender was also extended a little further at that time, so that since then water has been flowing under the Bogaerd Bridge again.
