The bocage landscape with its marshes and countless canals is rich in special plant and animal species. The relatively high vegetation in the otherwise barren marshland forms an ideal breeding and wintering place for migratory birds. In addition to water level management, the main objective of this nature park is the transfer of information about the plant and animal world in the area.

Regional natural park made up of marshes and polders which are part of a traditional bocage landscape over 140,000 ha including 30,000 ha of wetland.
This Park is home to 4 to 5% of French white storks and 30% of French wagtails, for example.
In autumn, several tens, even hundreds, of thousands of birds pass through this territory to reach their winter quarters. A show not to be missed!
With the seasons, the marshes change appearance:
In winter, floods whiten the marsh, which then takes the name "white marsh".
In spring, the rivers return to their beds. In the vast meadows, fish give way to cows, horses, birds…
