We start our day with an express visit to Sarlat which would require much more time.
There are a few beautiful hills leading up to leave the town and reach the Breuil cabins which are really worth a visit.
The storm overtakes us and we have to take cover under makeshift shelters many times.

We leave Monpazier in uncertain weather to reach Cadouin and its famous abbey.
The heavy rains forecast will catch up with us in Limeuil, a charming village at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Vézère, which the storm will prevent us from visiting.

A day that begins with a visit to Puy l’Évêque, a small town not to be missed!
We then follow the Lot and its cycle route to Fumel to turn due north towards Gavaudin and its castle clinging to the cliff.
The valley road which winds around the Léde allows us to reach first the pretty village of Saint-Avit…

After a walking tour of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, we get back on our horse to follow the Lot to Puy-l'Évêque.
The first part to Cahors is magnificent: towpath, passages under the cliff, gravel paths as you wish without forgetting the Château des Anglais.
Cahors and its famous Valentré bridge deserve more attention…
