The community had originally planned to have the old Protestant church from 1561 demolished. But the monument protection authorities intervened. As a result, the church fell into increasing disrepair. After the First World War, the community ignored the monument protection requirements and demolished the church. The old gravestones, some of which bore the Stein family coat of arms, were transferred to the new church.

In November 1910, the new Protestant church was consecrated. A neo-Romanesque building made of light, yellow sandstone was built. A 39-meter-high tower was erected in the northwest corner. The consecration took place after the farewell service in the old church. The keys to the new church were carried on a white cushion, and the pastor carried the holy vessels.

The dilapidation of the old church led to the reconstruction of the parish church, which was inaugurated on November 24, 1910 after around two years of construction. The neo-Romanesque hall church with two aisles has a gable roof and a retracted apse. In the northwest corner there is a 39 meter high church tower. On the west gallery there is an organ with 13 registers on two manuals and a pedal. The organ builder Strebel from Nuremberg set up the instrument.
