Tips

For the Fürstensteig (is a T3 path) you should be free from giddiness and sure-footed. Although the path is well maintained and some passages have been stabilized and made more accessible by concrete steps and wood, it does have some quite narrow passages and the abyss is steep. But it is a fascinating path that is beautifully carved into the rock and you can enjoy a very nice view of the Rhine Valley up to the Alpstein.

The section is in the shade in the morning, but this is not necessarily a disadvantage, especially when it is hot. The path can be integrated into various circular hikes or you can continue to the Drei Sisters in the direction of the Gafadurahütte and Planken.

  • Fascinating how the most beautiful photo motifs arise here every few meters ... you almost don't get to hike at all because of all the photography

  • Far above the Rhine Valley, the Fürstensteig is a stimulating path through the rugged Alb rock. On the one hand you can look into the depths of the Rhine Valley, on the other hand you are impressed by the rough rock faces. The path itself is exposed but well secured. It leads hard along the slope, passes between stone gates and over gaps. Diverse and beautiful, until you reach the Albspitze at its highest point and dare to enjoy a magnificent view of the Alps all around.

  • The approach to the Alpspitze via the Fürstensteig is wonderful. An exposed path, excitingly wrested from the mountain, offers wonderful views of the Rhine Valley, which lies deep below. You have to master rocks and crevices on the way. All with the aim of rewarding yourself further up with a wonderful view over the Alps and spying out the next destinations from here.

  • Can be combined with many, Next on the Three Sisters or Als Rundweg with the Alpspitze.

  • Breathtakingly beautiful tour. Surefootedness required but well secured

  • There is a free car park downstairs. From there you walk about 20-30 minutes down to the beginning of the Fürstensteig. Although this is shorter than expected, it is bursting with great views. You should be sure-footed and have a head for heights, but you don't need any climbing equipment. There are a few sections that are secured with ropes, but they are not necessary to walk. Dogs can be taken along on this section. However, if you continue to walk to the Three Sisters, you will only come with your dog as far as the first one, after which there will be several ladders.
