The "Former Sieg Loop near Dreisel" nature reserve is located in the municipality of Windeck and encompasses a former loop of the Sieg River and parts of the Umlaufberg, a hill once surrounded by the Sieg. The now-dry former Sieg Loop, with its characteristic Umlaufberg, once surrounded by the Sieg, was formed by the cutting off of the Sieg Loop approximately 200,000 years ago.
