The moat houses were built in 1610 on the city's double wall. Originally the houses were used by soldiers as apartments. It is thanks to these apartments that at least some of them still exist today as living space and tourist attractions.

Hiking

The medieval city wall was converted into a wall in 1690. Houses for the soldiers were built on this. The houses are still inhabited today. A very nice part of Ulm and absolutely worth seeing. But keep in mind when visiting that people live here and be calm and respectful.
