Here a small path deviates from the main path, which directly follows the course of the Anger. A very charming, little different way (we don't want to call it a detour: this is the way ...), which leads us very close to the bank of the stream. A little more caution should be required when it is wet and in high water. After a few loops and turns, the path leads back to the main path.

Always along the stream on fairly well-developed, relatively wide paths.

The Angerbach, also called the Anger for short, is an approximately 35.8 km long tributary to the Lower Rhine on the right bank of the Rhine. Today this area in the city of Ratingen is a nature reserve. This Angertal nature reserve is an important core area for the biotope network in the district of Mettmann. It extends from the Auermühle in Ratingen to the eastern municipal boundary in Heiligenhaus. The name of the nature reserve comes from the Angerbach, which flows through the town of Ratingen in a beautiful brook valley, which later becomes a calm and shallow brook.
