Best Hikes to Maibachklamm Wooden Pathways and Bridges

Tips

  • If you walk along the Ahrsteig, this happily babbling brook is crossed 11 times over a wooden bridge. On the left is the former Calvarienberg monastery, which can be seen several times from the Ahrsteig. For the Kalvarienberg see de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kloster_Kalvarienberg

  • Very idyllic and quiet. The Ahrsteig also starts here.

  • Maibach is the colloquial name for a 4.5 km long tributary of the Ahr, which is officially called Wingsbach. The upper reaches can also be found in various maps as Talbach.
On its lower reaches, the Wingsbach flows through the Maibach Gorge. As you follow the stream on a narrow path, you cross over a few small wooden bridges. A very romantic spot in the Ahr Valley...
By the way, there is no sign of the flood in summer 2021 in the gorge. It can be walked through without any problems...
