The head-high watershed obelisk on the outskirts of Steinbach am Wald was originally created in 1850 and renewed in 1956. It lies at an altitude of 624 above sea level. and testifies that the Rennsteig divides the water along its entire length, namely to the north to the Elbe and to the south to the Main and Rhine. In the middle of the island of the roundabout stands the artistic replica of this obelisk.
