This is a bunker of the Neckar-Enz positions. The number can no longer be found out. The Neckar-Enz positions were built between 1935 and 1938 and stretched from Eberbach in the Odenwald am Neckar to Enzweihingen near Vaihingen an der Enz. They were intended to prevent any French invasions across the Kraichgau. After the fall of the Western Wall towards the end of the Second World War, the Wehrmacht succeeded in delaying the entry of the Allied forces for twelve days through this second line of fortifications.

In 2009, it became known through investigations on the occasion of the Dresden visit of Barack Obama, the then US President, that Obama has German roots and his 6th great-grandfather, Johann Conrad Wölfflin, was born on January 29, 1729 in Besigheim. Wolfflin emigrated to America in 1750 and changed his last name to Wolfley.
